Pillars of Yesterday


These two pillars jutting out from the sea about 100 meters from the shore of Sura Jetty in Dungun definitely stir curiosity to visitors. They are actually the remnants of the glorious past. The time when Dungun became the port to export the iron ore to faraway lands. These two pillars were part of a jetty which was used to transfer the iron ore onto tugboats which then ferry them to waiting ships.
